About the position
Insufficient knowledge about safety issues related to widespread roll-out of hydrogen technology represents a major bottleneck for the industry. It is of key importance for the future hydrogen society to safely manage hydrogen and avoid accidental releases.
This PhD position is funded by the European project H2GLASS on “advancing Hydrogen (H2) technologies and smart production systems TO decarbonise the GLass and Aluminium SectorS” and will involve internationally renowned research institutes and industries. You will work in collaboration with SINTEF Energy.
You will investigate inspection and maintenance models based on both risk thresholds and the uncertainty associated to prediction, typology of inspection and maintenance effectiveness.
This will allow defining ad-hoc safety-oriented operations for hydrogen systems.
You will have the chance to collect and use first-hand data from industry, and thus liaise with relevant sector companies.
For a position as a PhD Candidate, the goal is a completed doctoral education up to an obtained doctoral degree.
Your immediate leader is Professor.
