Required License/Registration/Certification Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
Physical Requirements This position requires standing for greater than 5 hours at a time and possibly walking several miles per day. This position also requires the ability to reach items above shoulder level, performing tasks with repetitive motions, occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds, and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds. Additionally, this position may involve some job-related travel (less than 10% of time); exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning equipment or materials; and exposure to temperature extremes, hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, cuts/punctures, and blood-borne or airborne pathogens.
Shift Shift is a rotating shift currently working between the hours of 7:00am and 5:00pm Monday through Friday. Hours, rotation schedule, and operating days of the week may change based on the needs of the department. Position participates in holiday rotation shift with other Ambulatory Pharmacy Services.
Job Summary This position will provide a variety of specialty pharmacy services including obtaining prior authorizations, enrolling patients’ in financial support programs, mail order tracking and drug inventory management, and coordinating first time dispenses and refills for specialty medications prescribed within UK HealthCare. You will work closely with nurses, physicians, and UK Specialty Pharmacy staff to improve access to medications for a variety of sub specialty disease states.
The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted. The minimum hourly rate for this position will now be $18.50/hour. All pay rates will be based on candidate’s experience.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities This position requires dependability and the ability to prioritize. The successful candidate must be reliable and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No
Preferred Education/Experience Two years of previous work experience (in a related field). Prefer previous pharmacy tech experience or work/classes in medical field. Hired candidate must maintain state licensure in good standing. Must have 2 years of full-time (or pro-rated) pharmacy technician experience and must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
