The Pharmacy Department has over 450 staff members who provide comprehensive inpatient pharmacy services as well as outpatient services via two cancer centers, outpatient pharmacies and ambulatory care clinics.
Committed to the education and training of pharmacists, students/interns, residents, technicians, and other health care professionals. We are affiliated with several Schools of Pharmacy and offers PGY1 and PGY2 residency programs. The residency and student experiential programs at CSMC continue to grow with every successive year, where over 125 residents have graduated from the accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency program since 1985 and more than 200 student rotations are offered at CSMC annually. Recently, CSMC was recognized as “Site of the Year” awards by two major affiliated CA Schools of Pharmacy for providing an exceptional experiential learning environment for their students.
The Pharmacy Manager in our Outpatient Oncology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, will assist in oversight over Samuel Ocshin Cancer Center Institute and Tower Hematology Oncology pharmacy and operations, the specialty pharmacy oral chemotherapy program, our oncology pharmacy prior authorization and outpatient infusion patient assistance programs. The manager will also serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge for Samuel Ocshin Cancer Institute (SOCCI) and Tower Hematology Oncology (THO) pharmacy. The Manager is also responsible for human resources management of the team which consists of approx. 30 staff (pharmacists/technicians). Other responsibilities include but not limited to strategic planning for therapeutic advances, valued based care models, safety and quality; collaborating with medical staff in development of evidence based guidelines through the Oncology Disease Groups (DRG’s); development of content for the Oncology Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee meetings; serving as a resource to staff on complex therapeutic and operational issues.
