Pharmacy Finance and Revenue Cycle Specialist

The Pharmacy Finance Specialist role is responsible for financial accounting and reporting of pharmacy business services across the UVA Health Pharmacy Enterprise. This position prepares month-end, year-end, and ad-hoc accounting entries for the 7 UVA Retail Pharmacies and UVA Specialty Pharmacy, 340B contract pharmacies, and drug expense and purchased services entries and adjustments for 32 cost centers within Pharmacy Services enterprise, along with 3 pharmacies within UVA Community Health. This role is responsible for financial assessments of performance, and maintaining accurate financial reporting documentation and tools for all pharmacies in the enterprise including pharmacy income statements and financial performance metrics which are reviewed by the Chief of Pharmacy Services, Pharmacy Senior Director of Business Services, and the Pharmacy Leadership team.

  • Maintains accurate and appropriate financial accounting for 32 pharmacy departments including month-end, year-end, and ad-hoc entries
  • Prepares financial and performance repots for pharmacies across the pharmacy enterprise (i.e. retail, specialty, infusion, etc.) with analysis of profitability and productivity
  • Provide financial analysis and modeling for pharmacy business operations, payor and reimbursement changes, and new business planning
  • Monitors pharmaceutical expense, wholesaler invoices, and accounts to maintain accurate expense financial reporting
  • Proficient working with ERP systems, Anaplan, and Microsoft Excel to perform complex financial and data analysis
  • Responds to financial analysis and data requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Compensation Range: $25.72 – $41.15 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, IT or related field required
Experience: Experience: 3 years relevant experience performing data analysis, extraction and systems interface, or 3 years relevant experience in pharmacy finance or accounting.
Licensure: None required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
