Position Summary
The Personal Trainer provides members with customized fitness programs while educating them on proper nutrition, cardiovascular exercise, resistance training and attaining a healthier lifestyle.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Building and maintain client base, instructs small group training or one-on-one training. Educates members of current health and fitness issues and trends.
  • Executes individual fitness program design, demonstrates and teaches exercises while providing feedback on technique.
  • Greets and makes members/guests feel welcomed as they enter and exit the facility.
  • Treats all members and guests with respect.
  • Ensures safety of guests/members and take preventative actions to decrease risk.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work flexible shifts.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs as well as demonstrate and spot exercises.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year experience as a Personal Trainer.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Strong passion for fitness/exercise.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Demonstrate enthusiastic, outgoing, positive attitude.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent high school certification and 18 years of age.
  • Bachelor’s degree in the health/fitness field or national accredited primary certification.
  • Current CPR/AED Cert through the American Red Cross.
  • Nationally recognized Personal Trainer Certification, CPR, AED and First Aid certifications.

G10-H

Salary Range
$24.24 – $37.58 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one’s qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
