Personal Support Worker (PSW) in Sutton, Ontario

We are seeking PSWs for an LTC home in Sutton. Day. evening, and night shifts are available. We are looking for part-time to full-time staff that can commit to working every other weekend and pick up shifts as needed. 

Job Benefits:

• Competitive pay at $21 (+ $3 PSW wage enhancement) = $24/hr

The successful candidate’s areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Providing resident-focused care that meets the needs of residents

• Maintaining open communication with residents and their families

• Assisting with personal care including eating, dressing, transferring, toileting, hygiene, grooming, and bathing as per residents’ care plans

• Monitoring and noting any changes to patient care plans

• Providing medication support and management

• Providing cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support  

• Providing oral and dental care  

• Responding to all emergency situations

• All other duties, as assigned

Key qualifications for this position will include, but are not limited to:

• PSW certification

• Valid CPR certificate

• Completion of Police Vulnerable Sector Check

• Satisfactory professional references

• A minimum of 1 year experience working in a LTC facility is required

• Experience using PointClickCare (PCC) is required

• Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions

• Must be able to anticipate problems and use sound judgment and tact in handling confidential matters
