Personal Assistant to Senior Academics

We are seeking to appoint a professional and highly motivated Personal Assistant to provide PA and administrative support to several senior academics within the MRC Molecular Haematology Unit, at the Institute.

Duties will include routine secretarial duties such as producing meeting minutes, travel and diary arrangements plus assisting with the preparation/submission of online manuscripts, and grant applications. Other responsibilities include providing administrative support on financial matters, making travel arrangements both nationally and internationally, and keeping records in a filing system.

You will have significant PA/secretarial experience at a senior level, including experience of diary management.  Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with a positive self-motivated and flexible approach to work will be essential. Working with minimal supervision and using your own initiate you will have the ability to draft correspondence and produce well-presented documents with high levels of accuracy and good attention to detail.  It is essential you have excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email, together with excellent time management and organisational skills, to manage and prioritise a varied and busy workload.

This post is to cover the absence of the substantive postholder, who is taking a period of maternity leave. The post is available until 31 December 2023 or the actual return of the substantive postholder, or the resignation of the substantive postholder and employment of a new postholder, whichever is the earliest. A minimum of 60% on-site working is anticipated.
