Job Description

The Nurse Educator is responsible to assess, plan, organize, develop, implement and evaluate education programs and learning activities designed to assist nursing personnel to acquire knowledge and skills to meet job requirements and regulatory standards. The Nurse Educator demonstrates expertise in staff education, nursing practice, nursing care delivery, and evidence-based practice.  The Nurse Educator collaborates effectively with nursing and with other disciplines to meet organizational and team expectations and to assure that staff can perform safely and independently for their assigned role functions. Responsibilities include: staff orientation, class development, instructor/faculty for courses, new product and equipment in-service, unit based in-service, educational needs assessment and ongoing competency of staff.   The Nurse Educator incorporates current evidence based knowledge and skill in clinical nursing theory, adult learning principles, and clinical, educational, and professional standards of nursing practice. The Nurse Educator collaborates with all members of the health care team and serves as a role model and resource for patient care staff within the unit/department/institution

and community.

Requires: Master’s degree in Nursing and 3 years clinical perioperative experience or clinical instruction experience.
