As a People Services Officer within the People Services team, you will gain invaluable skills and exposure across a broad range of employee lifecycle activities including end to end staff movements, with a focus on recruitment partnering, HRIS management, as well as the provision of general policy and procedure advice.

Being part of the broader People Portfolio team at UniSQ you will have the opportunity to gain exposure to how specialized HR teams support and shape the development of an engaging work culture and environment. What you’ll do:

  • Undertake end-to-end recruitment processes for all roles across a complex higher education provider
  • Undertake position description evaluations and advertising campaigns, candidate pre-employment checks and liaising with applicants.
  • Act as the first point of contact for the broader People Portfolio and provide general advice and guidance on wide range of employment conditions, policies and staff entitlements;
  • Process employee documentation, including generation of employment terms and conditions.
  • Deliver on a broad range of generalist HR activities and initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively in a fast-paced team to ensure high levels of service are delivered to our people.

  • You understand the importance and value of how working collaboratively with others can make a positive impact and deliver meaningful outcomes
  • A great attitude towards a fast-paced work environment
  • Comfortable to multitask and get involved to deliver a broad range of HR advice within a complex environment, including the interpretation and application of USQ Enterprise Agreement and HR policies and procedures.

In addition to being a self-motivated and critical thinker, you will have:

  • At a minimum a Diploma qualification in Human Resources or similar ideally with work experiences or exposure in a generalist human resources role (or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training);
  • Excellent communication skills and strong service orientation.
  • A genuine interest in providing advice and support to clients across a broad range of HR matters; and
  • An ability to work effectively in a team environment whilst organising and prioritising your work activities to meet established deadlines.
