People (HR) Administrator – Onboarding and Employment Lifecycle

We are recruiting an experienced administrator to join our Onboarding and Employment Lifecycle team. The purpose of the team is to provide a comprehensive and seamless service to internal and external customers, employees and stakeholders, covering a broad level of transactional activities and advice across the employment lifecycle.

You will have experience of working in a process and procedure driven environment, delivering quality services in line with service level agreements across the University group.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing a full range of onboarding and employee lifecycles administration tasks including issuing offer letters and contracts, being a point of contact for all new starters to the University, liaising with managers and employees who are due to leave their employment, ensuring a smooth transition. You will also provide a support to the HR People Partners, Advisors and other HR colleagues.

Following internal processes and in line with current legislation, you will be responsible for undertaking all pre-employment checks for candidates and employees to include Right to Work in the UK (including the rechecking of current employees where applicable), references, occupational health and DBS where applicable.

Person Specification:

  • Educated to A-Level or equivalent with demonstrable work experience in a similar role
  • Experience of previously working in a high performing customer focused environment.
  • Experience in administrative work, within a fast moving, high-volume environment.
  • Experience of dealing with customers via face to face, telephone and online.
  • Ability to competently use Microsoft, Excel, Word, and Outlook
