Currently, our Treasury, Taxation, Investment Fund division is hiring for Pension Investment & Accounting Analyst.
The Pension Investment & Accounting Analyst provides support in carrying out the accountabilities of the Pension Management Function in accordance with applicable legislation, policies, programs, procedures and agreements. Provide advice, guidance and support to team members in carrying out their financial control accountabilities.
This is a permanent, full-time position which offers a competitive benefits, compensation and pension package and is located on site in our Toronto location.
What will you be responsible for?

To be a professional analyst, with a broad knowledge of financial concepts as they pertain to portfolio management and accounting.

Provide support to the pension department team in carrying out the accountabilities of the Pension Management Function in accordance with applicable legislation, policies, programs, procedures and agreements.

Provide advice, guidance and support to team members in carrying out their financial control accountabilities.
Specific Responsibilities:

Prepare daily analysis of the Pension Plan’s cash flow requirements.

Maintain custody reports and prepare monthly reconciliation reports, including the calculation of fund yields and analysis of realized/unrealized gains and losses. Calculate and deposit employee and employer contributions as required.

Review and process on a monthly basis all invoices relating to the operation of the pension fund.

Liaise with the fund custodian to resolve portfolio discrepancies.

Prepare weekly trade reports and analyze portfolio holdings.

Assist with investment performance measurement reporting, including the preparation of monthly and quarterly investment reports.

Assist in the preparation of the pension plan’s annual financial statements.

Maintain appropriate fund accounting processes, including tracking of actual cash flows versus accruals.

Maintain a professional awareness in relation to current accounting practice, GAAP and general business environment.

Perform other duties as required .
Education and Experience
-
This knowledge is normally considered to be gained through the completion a four (4) year University Degree in a related field.

A period of over 4 years and up to and including 6 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
