About the opportunity

The Service Operations team is looking for a self-driven Payments Officer to join their high performing team. In your new role, you will provide excellent customer service to university staff. You will utilize your high-level consulting skills to provide advice and guidance relative to university policy and procedure regarding staff and supplier queries. In addition, you will be responsible for providing invoice (including non-standard) reconciliation services including data entry, transaction interrogation and analysis.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • process all invoices (including non-order, students and overseas) in accordance with Procurement Policy and on-line Procure to Pay system manuals
  • perform journal transfers and reconciliations
  • take for resolution triaged invoice or other accounts payable related issues or problems
  • ensure all administrative and record keeping are completed in a manner consistent with university standards to ensure easy access and verification
  • contribute to continuous improvement regarding accounts payable systems, processes and administrative.

  • excellent general accounting skills, including, but not limited to, reconciliations and journal transfers
  • ability to apply advanced analytical and critical thinking skills to required tasks
  • ability to set priorities between competing tasks, meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • ability to share knowledge in a team environment to ensure continuous improvement in delivering customer service.
