The Patient/Provider Services Rep handles the administrative activities for the call center. This position responds to a large amount of incoming calls, open and maintain member inquiry by detailing information and handling complaints. This position works with a wide range of internal and external partners, including physicians, senior management, managers, and office staff. Will work independently and take initiative.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a liaison between providers, patients, health plans and other internal departments throughout the Cedars-Sinai providing superb customer service, daily and weekly updates of call center activities to ensure success of department.
  • Provides operational support including training when appropriate.
  • Responds to issues pertaining to claims, eligibility, utilization/referrals, quality and/or marketing.
  • Handles complaints and provides appropriate solutions and alternative options.

Education:

High school diploma or GED preferred. AA or BS degree preferred

Experience:

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in a medical practice, billing service, health plan or customer service department. Call Center experience preferred.
  • Should have outstanding customer service skills and proven knowledge of health insurance, managed care reimbursement and medical delivery system.
  • Ability to rapidly adjust thought process to multiple customers.
  • Knowledge of EPIC and PC skills preferred.
  • Bilingual a plus.
