Patient Education Administrator Volunteer

Halton Healthcare has recently implemented a new Patient Education Policy that sees staff in charge of creating their documents, submitting them to our Patient Education Committee and uploading onto our internal repository. Document owners need support to check existing documents on the repository. Core content of the pieces will continue to be the responsibility of the document owners, while the role of the Patient Education Administrator Volunteer will be to ensure compliance with basic formatting, templates and reading level etc. The Patient Education Administrator Volunteer will support the document owners to update their Patient Education and provide support for incoming document formatting. A communication/marketing plan is a further step that this position could be part of should their skills align.

Required skills/qualifications:
An understanding or willingness to learn health literacy principles and plain language.
Proficient in Word (including document editing), PDF, Powerpoint, Canva etc
Comfort with computer systems like document repositories and sharepoint (CMS)
Project planning if needed (incl. a marketing plan)

Expected outcomes:
Documents currently uploaded on the repository need to be checked against the new policy and cleaned up
Policy and process support given to particularly patient education-heavy departments like Surgery.
