Organizational Unit Overview | The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is a clinical science department within the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. The primary functions of the department are teaching obstetrics and gynecology to medical students, resident physicians, post graduate students, nurses and other allied health professionals; providing clinical service to the region; and supporting research activities. |
Job Duties | The Patient Access Representative is needed for patient registration, appointment scheduling and medical reception in a busy, ambulatory care setting. The selected candidate will work, in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, to ensure the patient’s needs and operational standards are met. The ability to be highly organized and the ability to multitask and work independently are necessary to perform the duties of the position. The employee should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively and professionally by telephone and in person with faculty, staff, residents, students, patients and the general public.
