Organizational Unit Overview The Division of Endocrinology provides many training programs for both diabetes patients and future endocrinologists. A Self-Management Patient Education Program recognized by the American Diabetes Association is available as well as training and education for insulin pumps and other health-related issues for people with diabetes.
Job Duties This position is located in a clinical site and is involved in the following functions:
Registration
Scheduling
Cashiering
Outpatient Charge Entry
Telephone Operations
Managed Care Authorizations
This position serves in a business support role for patients, physicians and other staff at ECU Physicians to optimize practice policies and procedures. These functions require 100% of the employees’ time and effort.

The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is affiliated with ECU Health Medical Center, which serves as it’s teaching hospital, as well as the flagship hospital for ECU  Health.
Minimum Education/Experience High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
License or Certification required by statute or regulation None
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education Associate Degree in Medical Office Assistance, Business Administration, Healthcare Management Technology, or other related degree from an accredited two year program with 1 year of healthcare experience or equivalent education or experience. 
License or Certification required by the Department None
