| Organizational Unit Overview | The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is a clinical science department within the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. The primary functions of the department are teaching obstetrics and gynecology to medical students, resident physicians, post graduate students, nurses and other allied health professionals; providing clinical service to the region; and supporting research activities. |
| Job Duties | The Patient Access Representative is needed for patient registration, appointment scheduling and medical reception in a busy, ambulatory care setting. The selected candidate will work, in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, to ensure the patient’s needs and operational standards are met. This position will work at the Brody Outpatient Center. This position is involved in the following functions: Registration Scheduling Cashiering Outpatient Charge Entry Telephone Operations Managed Care Authorizations This position serves in a business support role for patients, physicians and other staff at ECU Physicians to optimize practice policies and procedures. These functions require 100% of the employees’ time and effort. CLINICAL SUPPORT POSITION – NOT SUBJECT TO STATE PERSONNEL ACT. The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is affiliated with ECU Health Medical Center, which serves as it’s teaching hospital, as well as the flagship hospital for ECU Health. |
