JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The McCourtney Institute for Democracy is hiring undergraduate coders for the Mood of the Nation Poll. Coders read poll responses and code them for later analysis. This provides a unique opportunity to learn how Americans from all walks of life feel about issues in politics and current events. Student coders may also use the data for their own research. 

Requirements and Qualifications

• Applicants should be available to work in Pond Lab at least 3 to 5 hours per week, with more hours when new poll results come in. There are no set hours.
• No experience or particular skills are required, but you must be willing to learn new software and to work collaboratively with other student coders.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
