POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Diploma in Accounting Program (DAP)

The Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia is seeking applicants for Part-time Instructor positions teaching various accounting courses, business economics, and business law in the Diploma in Accounting Program (DAP) beginning September 1, 2026. The expected salary range for the position is $3,000 to $4,000 per credit.

Qualifications:
• For accounting related courses, a professional accounting designation (CPA) is required, preferably combined with a Masters level degree in Business, or related fields; for the business law course, a law degree (LLB or JD) is required, along with relevant professional experience; for the economics course, an economics designation (CBE) is required, preferably combined with a Masters level degree in Business, or related fields;
• Demonstrated knowledge of theories, understanding of applications and extensive public practice and/or business-related experience in one or more of the topic areas covered by the core courses in DAP (financial and managerial accounting, business law and economics);
• Proven ability to instruct in face-to-face classroom, blended and on-line teaching environments as evidenced by strong teaching evaluations;
• Demonstrated ability using learning management systems, classroom technologies and innovative pedagogical approaches to create engaging adult learning experiences;
• Strong proficiency using Excel or related spreadsheet tools, including but not limited to, statistical and regression functions, data charting and graphing functions and using Goal Seek and Solver functions to demonstrate and solve accounting problems;
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other instructors and staff.

Responsibilities: The position will focus primarily on teaching courses in the Diploma in Accounting Program. Other administrative duties include: liaising with faculty members to prepare syllabus and materials, holding office hours, participation in meetings and course related administrative activities. We also expect the candidate to engage in professional development.
