Summary of Job Duties:
Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor and Executive Director/Compliance Officer – Equal Opportunity, Compliance and Title IX, this position serves as part of a pool of hourly/part-time, impartial investigators on an as needed basis. The investigator addresses reports of discrimination, harassment and sexual misconduct through investigation, formal and informal problem-solving and education. The Investigator’s primary responsibility will be to conducting compassionate, thorough and impartial investigations to ensure the University is in compliance with laws, rules, and University policies and procedures on discrimination and harassment in education and employment.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.
Two years of work experience in conducting investigations.
Professional experience working with or investigating alleged civil rights allegations or a related field
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree or equivalent in human resources, higher education, social work, psychology or related field.
Three years of work experience in conducting investigations.
Specific experience conducting discriminatory and harassment investigations of protected class status in a higher education setting.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of trauma-informed investigative techniques
Familiarity with and knowledge of federal laws, regulations, and guidance important to postsecondary education, e.g., Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, ADA, Clery, VAWA, FERPA
Excellent investigative, research, analytical, oral communication and writing skills
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Ability to grasp complex issues rapidly and accurately
Demonstrated ability and experience working in and fostering an inclusive environment
Ability to establish rapport and work cooperatively with various levels of faculty, staff, students and outside agencies
Ability to prioritize and organize work effectively to meet sensitive deadlines. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to be resilient, flexible and creative in approaching complex problems and maintain confidential information
Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and similar software

Salary Information:
$25.00 per hour
