Part-Time Catering Assistant (Dish Washing/KP) (The Works)

Campus Services is part of Estates & Facilities and provides a wide variety of catering across the University campuses at both Old Aberdeen and Foresterhill. We have six catering units in the food court on the first floor of The Student Union, as well as a shop on the ground floor. We have a catering outlet in the MacRobert building and The Hardback café in the Sir Duncan Rice Library. HeadSpace at Hillhead Student Village contains The Works which has a café bar and catering outlet. At Foresterhill, we have catering units in the Suttie Centre and the Institute of Medical Sciences building. Additionally we provide a delivered catering offer on both campuses for which orders can be placed online via the University website. Bookings placed with our Conference & Events Office often require catering in various venues, including Elphinstone Hall, the Linklater Rooms and the Kings College Conference Centre. The events we cater for include informal meetings, lunches, buffets, receptions, dinners, conferences, weddings and formal celebrations of recognition, achievement and tradition within the University.

In this role you will join the team working in The Works at Hillhead Student Village and assist with the dish washing and KP duties as part of the evening food service which includes a buffet, bar and snack menu. This will be your main area of work although circumstances and business commitments may require the post holder to work in other locations.

You will be required to provide high quality work and ensure the highest standards of service are produced and maintained. Also to demonstrate a positive attitude to further training and professional development and a flexible approach to location of work and the tasks involved
The successful candidate should have previous catering experience, work well both independently and as part of a team, be well organised and able to use their initiative. They will have high standards of personal hygiene and presentation, have good communication skills and be able to work effectively under pressure at peak trading times.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 1, £20, 068 per annum (pro rata) which is £10.57.

This role is based in the UK and as such the successful candidate will be required to live and work in the UK.
Due to the nature of the requirements of this post, homeworking is not considered appropriate.
