Newnham College is seeking to recruit a full time, permanent Painter/Decorator to join the Maintenance team. Working under the direction of the Buildings Manager, the successful applicant will provide efficient and professional expertise in both painting and decorating and offer general maintenance skills. The standard of work expected is high and will be compliant with best practice and health and safety regulations. The College, established in 1871, has many beautiful buildings, old and new, where working sensitively, and with sustainability in mind to keep them functioning safely and in good order is paramount. This post is instrumental in providing that service; the work is varied and interesting and is undertaken in a positive and supportive working environment.

This is a permanent, full-time post, working 37.5 hours a week. The salary for this post is £29,691 per annum and is point 36 on the University’s single salary spine. Flexibility is required as the post includes periodic on-call duty as part of a rota shared with the rest of the team, to respond to out of hours emergencies. This attracts separate remuneration. This post is pensionable under the College’s attractive contributory pension scheme, with an employer contribution rate of 21.6%, holiday entitlement is to 33 days per year (inclusive of bank holidays), a free meal when on duty, free car parking and free use of the College’s gym facilities.
