Summary of Job Duties:
The Physician Extender (PA or APRN) will be located in Northwest Arkansas and will assist physician with clinic, organizing visits and performing clinic procedures, assist in the operating room, answer pages and round on inpatients as needed. The Physician Extender will augment a physician’s ability to provide medical services to patients; collect and document data, conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, order and schedule laboratory studies and professional consultations and provide direct patient care services. Will be included in the Orthopaedic after hour call rotation. Call for urgent and/or emergent treatment of orthopedic conditions is expected and a requirement of the position. This includes reduction of fractures and other similar orthopedic procedures that can be done in the emergency department.

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in nursing for APRN. For APRN applicants, Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas; APRN License and 2 years nursing experience for APRN only.

For PA applicants, a Physician’s Assistant Certificate of Registration with the Arkansas Medical Board or be certification eligible, and be certified as a Physician’s Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment.
