Outreach Coordinator, Transformative Workforce Academy
Under general direction from the Transformative Workforce Academy (TWA) Program Director, the Outreach Coordinator is responsible for building and strengthening relationships with community stakeholders to increase employment opportunities for second chance jobseekers. This position will build trust among community partners to grow referrals as well as enhance networks of support for TWA jobseekers. The Outreach Coordinator will recruit, train, and capacitate second chance employers, with the goal of increasing employment and retention rates. The position will focus on identifying and cultivating career pathways for continuous career growth and economic mobility for justice-involved individuals. The role will also assist in volunteer job coach recruitment through outreach with diverse outlets. This is a full-time position that requires a mix of in-person and remote work.
Primary Job Responsibilities:

Build and strengthen relationships with existing community partners through one-on-one meetings to gather feedback, assess needs, and identify expectations and roles for working together. Maintain close contact with these and new partners in regular intervals to consider opportunities for greater mutual support.

Research, identify, and conduct outreach to community agencies not yet engaged with TWA to establish relationships and referral pipelines.

Build and strengthen relationships with existing employer partners through one-on-one meetings to gather feedback, assess needs, and identify expectations. Maintain contact with these employers at designated intervals after hire of a TWA jobseeker to provide support and troubleshoot challenges.

Research, identify, and conduct outreach to employers not yet engaged with TWA to establish employment pipelines through individual meetings and networking events.

Conduct virtual and in-person employer trainings using the established “Just Talent” curriculum to increase employer knowledge on support of second chance jobseekers. Engage employers in creating, implementing, and being accountable for action steps to build company cultures that support and promote justice-involved employees.

Research and identify career pathways with potential for long-term opportunities of career growth, stability, and economic mobility for second chance jobseekers.

Identify and recruit volunteer job coaches who will support jobseekers through the hiring process by conducting outreach with and engaging various businesses, community agencies, university groups, and faith bodies.

Collaborate with the TWA team to support the planning and execution of TWA’s biannual virtual Second Chance Job Fairs and other program activities and events.

Complete necessary record keeping, as appropriate, using electronic systems.

Complete other administrative duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:

Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and training skills.

Ability to work collaboratively and network with a broad range of internal and external partners.

Ability to take initiative and work independently.

Ability to prioritize and manage competing demands and deadlines.

Ability to work patiently and compassionately with individuals facing many challenges concurrently.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the St. Louis Metropolitan area.
Recommended Qualifications:
-
Experience working with justice-involved individuals in a workforce development context.
-
Experience working directly with persons who have severe mental illness, chemical dependency, cognitive disabilities, or a dual diagnosis.
Required Experience:
4 year degree and 1 year of experience OR equivalent work experience
