Job description

As part of the outdoor team within Estates Services, you will be responsible for general upkeep and tidiness of the UCLan estates. Ensuring the external environment is safe, clean and represents the organization in a positive light. You will ensure that roads, paths and building entrances and all open spaces are well presented, free from litter and other waste. That waste collections and recycling activities are carried out in accordance with current legislation. Duties will also include driving UCLan vehicles, salt spreading, snow clearing, operation of power washers, card bailers, sweeping machines/vehicles and lifting equipment.

 

It will be essential that successful candidates have experience in waste management and recycling operations, that they are able to work outdoors in any weather and have a full UK driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points. It is preferable that candidates hold NVQ Level 2 environmental management, have and understanding of environmental legislation and have completed manual handling training.

 

Applicants need to meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview. This position is based in Preston.
