The Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center (VMC) invites applications for a full-time Small Animal Orthopedic Surgeon. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a successful candidate to join our distinguished faculty, and  provide production-based orthopedic referral service to the veterinarians of central Ohio at our suburban satellite hospital located in Dublin Ohio, about 10 miles from our Columbus campus hospitals.  While this position includes a faculty appointment, it does not include all the traditional components and requirements of a typical full-time faculty position. Candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in patient management, client service, and resident and intern clinical training. The successful candidate has ample opportunity to collaborate with VMC colleagues through case consultation, training opportunities, service rounds, journal clubs, and clinical research trials. Candidates must have a DVM or equivalent degree, and specialty board certification (ACVS/ECVS).

The caseload and pace at VMC-Dublin mirror that of private practice.  The VMC Dublin provides outstanding facilities and equipment, including an Arthrex 4K arthroscope, fluoroscopy, digital radiography, and a 16-slice CT.  Off-site 3T MRI is available, images are read by faculty radiologists, and consultation with faculty specialists at our on-campus VMC is readily available.  The Dublin orthopedic team consists of rotating residents, a surgical intern, seven veterinary technicians and six veterinary assistants.

The successful candidate will enjoy a four day week, receive a competitive base salary and comprehensive benefits package, and be eligible for monthly production-based  payments.   There are no on-call requirements for this position.

The successful candidate will join the Veterinary Medical Center, and the Small Animal Surgery service (https://vet.osu.edu/vmc/companion/our-services/orthopedic-surgery ) within the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences.  The department supports a faculty of over 75 clinical specialists, educators, and investigators along with extensive training programs for professional students, interns, residents, and graduate students. Additional Information:

By the start of employment, all newly hired employees must receive at least the first dose of a two-dose series or a single dose of a one-dose series COVID-19 vaccination. Individuals who choose a two-dose series vaccination must receive the second dose within 45 days of their start date. Proof of vaccination will be required at time of hire.
