This position will be responsible for maintaining rodent breeding colonies, animal census sheets, will assist with obtaining and maintaining animal use protocols and other licenses and authorizations to comply with all University of Florida requirements. 

 This position will be responsible for investigating the anesthesia-caused brain abnormalities and underlying mechanisms in rodent models.  The applicant will participate in administration of study agents to live animals, neuroendocrine and behavioral tests, collection of body tissue samples and mechanistic studies in the tissue samples.

 The applicant will maintain laboratory supplies, request technical assistance and equipment servicing from businesses and help with general laboratory needs.

$15.00 – $18.00

A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Prior experience of working in a biomedical laboratory is desirable.

Ability to humanely and compassionately work with animals for medical research.

Organizational skills with respect to data and time management

Ability to communicate clearly using both oral and written routes.
