Description
This exciting position provides saltwater angler engagement support for Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) Division of Marine Fisheries Management – Outreach and Education Subsection. Primary duties include working with FWC’s saltwater angler recognition program, Catch a Florida Memory (CAFM) and assisting with the coordination of the Monofilament Recovery and Recycling Program (MRRP).

Successful applicants will be proficient at photo identification of saltwater fish and shark species commonly targeted by anglers in Florida, have strong communication skills, be knowledgeable of web-based programs, and have a positive attitude.

Primary work location is in Tallahassee, with the opportunity to telework 2 days per week after a 6-month probationary period.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Assist in the review and approval of CAFM participant photo submissions in a timely manner
-Provide excellent customer service to CAFM participants and other stakeholders
-Develop a masterful understanding of the CAFM program categories including Life List, Reel Big Fish, Grand Slams, and Triple Threat Club
-Become proficient in use of CAFM public-facing and staff-facing web applications
-Develop suggestions and possible solutions to improve process and efficiency of CAFM program
-Assist with coordination of the Monofilament Recovery and Recycling Program (MRRP)
-Assist with outreach events and other projects as needed and directed by supervisor

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
-Proficiency in photo identification of fish and sharks targeted by saltwater anglers in Florida
-Knowledge of personal computers and related software (Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel, and Access)
-Knowledge of web-based programs and web programming.
-Knowledge of saltwater fishing (techniques, gear, regulations, and experience)
-Excellent communication skills (public speaking, electronic communications, and personal interactions)
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups of stakeholders and staff
