This position operates within a dynamic humanitarian mine action environment in Ukraine, supporting the implementation of mine action activities, training and mentoring activities in project related regions. The role is essential for effective capacity development of national mine action actors, and ensuring the safe and efficient execution of mine action operations.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the humanitarian effort in Ukraine by supporting humanitarian mine action activities and building local capacity. The position offers exposure to a challenging and rewarding environment, working with diverse stakeholders to address the impact of explosive ordnance on communities.
1. Training and Medical Support:
● Deliver medical training and specialized medical training sessions to beneficiary personnel in national institutions, including those who deployed in the high-risk areas, ensuring they are capable of cascading the training to their teams effectively.
● Coordinate with the client`s Humanitarian Mine Action Technical Advisor on any changes to casualty care best practice or Ukrainian clinical guidelines that should be reflected in the training materials.
2. Equipment Specification and Coordination:
● Assist in the specification of medical equipment required for humanitarian mine action projects and related medical training.
● Where requested, monitor and track the usage and condition of medical equipment to ensure optimal utilisation and maintenance.
3. Liaison and Coordination:
● Where requested, maintain effective communication channels with project stakeholders, including relevant agencies and departments involved in humanitarian mine action and medical response activities.
● Coordinate and facilitate information exchange between client, project beneficiaries, and other stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of relevant information.
4. Monitoring and Reporting:
● Contribute to the development of reports, briefings, and other communication materials related to the client Programme.
● Ensure accurate documentation of all training activities, including curriculum development, training sessions, and coordination efforts.
To be reported to Field Operations Manager
● Relevant experience is experience in medical response and training, including trauma care, emergency medical procedures, and lifesaving techniques in volatile, conflict or immediate post conflict environments.
● Experience in developing and delivering training programs and curricula.
● Experience working with national authorities and understanding of Ukrainian medical standards and protocols is desirable.
● Experience working in volatile, conflict or immediate post conflict environments.
● Experience working in organizing and providing medical support to the humanitarian mine action actors.
● Strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
This role has no team management responsibilities
Advanced university degree in Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, or related field with 5 years of relevant experience (essential).
First level university degree in Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, or related field with 4 years of relevant experience (essential).
Certificate or diploma or degree level education in in related subjects with 2 years of relevant experience (essential).
Certificate in issued by government of Ukraine as as a pre-hospital care instructor (essential).
Valid license in category “B” (desirable).
Minimum of 4 years year/s of demonstrable relevant experience in medical response & training, including trauma care, emergency medical procedures & lifesaving techniques, particularly in a military, security, humanitarian, conflict, post conflict (essential).
Minimum of 2 years year/s of demonstrable relevant experience in designing & delivering training programs (essential).
Minimum of 5 years year/s of experience in a complex or conflict afflicted environment(s) (essential).
Working level in English (desirable).
Fluent in Ukrainian (essential).
