The Operations Analyst role is an entry-level position accountable for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of data flowing to the downstream applications via automated accounting and business validations. The person will be responsible for conducting root cause analysis of data quality issues for continuous improvement of operational workflows. The role involves developing an abilities of investment accounting principles, financial markets, and financial instruments. The opportunity is for a proactive, motivated, and self-taught person who wants to work in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment. The candidate must be innovative, collaborative, and highly detail oriented.
Responsibilities

Complete daily transactional and position controls to prevent or detect data quality issues and coordinate with operational teams for resolution.

Perform root cause analysis of data quality issues and propose enhanced workflows to minimize future occurrences.

Review and refine existing controls/procedures to continuously improve the quality and ensure clear and concise documentation is created and maintained.

Support and perform period closure validations.

Control, review, and minimize manual processes and inefficiencies, reduce operational risk.

Maintain partnerships with collaborators via periodic working groups to address outlier issues and encourage process improvement.

Participate and/or lead initiatives as assigned.

What we are looking for

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.

Analytical and quantitative reasoning skills.

Comfortable in learning new technologies and working in a changing environment.

Ability to work effectively and respectfully with a diverse team.

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Communication in both English and/or French (verbal and written).
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the asset management or financial industry.

Experience working in an environment where controls and daily deadlines are required.

Experience with Microsoft Power Apps.
Bilingual (French & English) is required – The successful candidate will be required to communicate in English and French to support clients from various jurisdictions outside of Quebec.

Salary range is expected to be between
$50,250.00 CAD – $83,750.00 CAD
