Job Summary

Job Summary Concord University Title III seeks an Online Instructional Design Coach (OIDC). The OIDC is responsible for assisting and providing faculty and academic department support for the innovative design of online courses /programs to support the success of online learners at Concord University.
The ODIC actively collaborates with the office of Provost and Technology Services to pursue and active the objectives and deliverables of the Concord University Title III grant related to instructional technology, assessment and evaluation.
The position is federally funded through the US Department of Education, Title III program.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duty/Responsibility
  • To assist the Program Director and faculty with projects related to various objectives and outcomes including evaluation and assessment of project outcomes.
  • Participate in actively pursuing program objectives through innovative instructional design strategies.
% of Time 40%
Duty/Responsibility
  • Professional Development and Resource Development – Collaborate with faculty and staff to coordinate and deliver professional development to faculty through the Center for Teaching and Learning in relation to course design and delivery.
  • Develop and maintain student skills modules and resources for students.
  • Create and maintain robust faculty and student training resources to support innovative education delivery, accessibility and student learning success.
% of Time 30%
Duty/Responsibility
  • Course Development/ Review –In collaboration with the department assist with a comprehensive analysis of existing educational materials while also developing a strategic plan for improving education via Blackboard.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to support data driven, innovative course design strategies to meet identified industry standards and to support increased student outcomes.
  • Provide ongoing collaboration with Instructional Technology and Design Services with regards to the development and continual improvement of education courses.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Knowledge

Minimum Education Bachelor’s
Required Licenses/Certification MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, instructional technology, business, or related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in education, instructional design, instructional technology, business, or related field
Required Skills
  • Knowledge of innovative learning technologies;
  • In depth knowledge of Learning Management Systems including Blackboard;
  • Ability to clearly explain and demonstrate technical ideas and equipment to a non-technical audience;
  • The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, self-motivated, and well-organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of instructional design models including ADDIE and SAM ID, best practices, learning theories and multimedia technology:
  • Knowledge of higher education academic systems including the ability to work collaboratively across many departments within the University;
  • Excellent written and communications skills;
  • Ability to organize and manage variety of tasks and projects.

Required Experience
