Offer DescriptionOne vacant position for a full-time university assistant (m/f/d) in the Service-Center Language, Learning and Culture, expected to start on September 16, 2024, on a permanent basis. Salary Group B1 according to the Uni-KV, monthly minimum salary excl. Szlg.: € 3.578,80 for 40 hours per week (14 x per year), the actual classification is based on any creditable job-specific previous experience.Tasks:A) Language Training
Teaching English courses as part of the university’s curriculum
Providing professional support for the pre-study English course, including the creation and administration of exams
Planning and delivering targeted courses for general staff
Planning and delivering target group-specific courses for academic staff, including language coaching, e.g. before attending conferences or writing scientific texts
Planning, implementing and monitoring needs-based, innovative and flexible formats for informal learning (e.g. tandem, brown-bag meetings, etc.)
Monitoring trends in language learning and sharing insights with the LLC lecturer team
Providing an English help desk for urgent internal requestsB) Proofreading
Proofreading public-facing texts, such as curricula, the university website, and scientific papers
Ensuring consistent terminologyC) Research on innovative formats and new programs conducted at Languages, Learning & Culture.Requirements:
Degree in English as a Foreign/Second Language (EFL, ESL) or comparable qualification
Native or professional proficiency in English: C2
Knowledge of German: C1
Several years of experience in higher education or adult education
Experience in online teaching and facilitating asynchronous learning units
Commitment to lifelong learningAdditional qualifications preferred:
Experience with Moodle
Good knowledge of international English examinations
Experience in advising learners
Experience in facilitating independent language learning
First experience in using AI for language learningWe offer:
