Works as a part of the Extension team in Hocking County. The Office Associate provides clerical and technical support for Extension Educators and program assistants. Serves as receptionist. answers phone, assists walk-in clientele, refers requests and messages. processes incoming and outgoing mail. handles money, maintains/organizes literature and 4-H records. Ensures effective and efficient operation of the office. 

Position is located in Logan, Ohio.

Additional Information:

Position Responsibilities:

50%: Performs copying, recording, routing, and distribution of documents and materials and processes mass mailings. Copies. faxes. and makes bank deposits/runs errands as needed. Completes word processing, data entry and management, maintains and updates office website.

30%: Provides support to administration and programs including financial and human resource record management, maintains financial and business records and manages OSU inventory and equipment. Prepares related reports.

10%: Provides preliminary contact with public including greeting visitors. answering phones, providing general information. and referring visitors. Obtains answers and provides requested information and referrals as needed.

10%: Inventories office supplies and publications and makes orders. Maintains and updates office equipment inventory. Participates in professional development.

By the start of employment, all newly hired employees must receive at least the first dose of a two-dose series or a single dose of a one-dose series COVID-19 vaccination. Individuals who choose a two-dose series vaccination must receive the second dose within 45 days of their start date. Proof of vaccination will be required at time of hire.

Candidates may request a medical or religious exemption from the vaccination requirement. Campus employees may also request an exemption for personal reasons. Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, College of Medicine or OSUP Employees are not eligible for personal exemptions. All exemptions are subject to Ohio State’s approval and subject to change, including revocation, due to legal and regulatory requirements.
