Hiring Unit:
Department of Biology
Position Summary:

  • Coordinates project meetings and communicates with project members of two projects in the Sunday Lab

  • Assists in the preparation of reports to Genome Canada

  • Tabulates research costs for reporting

  • Coordinates shipping of materials from McGill to partners for field work, or between partners to coordinate field-to-lab processing

  • Orders research materials

  • Maintains and updates project website

  • Prepares travel expense reports on behalf of supervisor

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

  • Interest in marine ecology or biodiversity science

  • Strong coordinating skills

  • Must be service-orientated with a proven ability to listen and assist a variety of project members

  • Able to maintain good records in excel

  • Keen attention to detail

  • Ability to work in a computerized environment using web publishing software (Weebly; WordPress, or similar), and to organize and conduct virtual meetings (via Zoom)

  • Experience in working independently, working in the field or laboratory, creating and managing websites, or organizing budgets, are an asset

  • Preference will go to applicants in a relevant discipline at McGill University

  • Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 3 (qualifier) on a scale of 0-4.

High School Diploma 2 Years Related Experience

(AMUSE C) $18.00
