In collaboration with the physician staff, the Procedural Service Nurse Practitioner I or II (NP II) is a professional advanced practice nurse who, because of education and in-depth clinical knowledge and experience in the diseases and treatments of the Electrophysiology, Structural and Interventional Cardiology patient populations possesses the skills necessary to provide expert nursing care for patients that have undergone procedural intervention. The Procedural NP will support and participate in organizational and divisional program development. This includes being a contact point for patients, families, attending and referring physicians, and staff, as well as the provision of patient care across all UCSF campuses and affiliated UCSF Faculty Practice and patient care locations.
Under the supervision of the UCSF Department of Medicine and guided by the policies and procedures, rules and regulations, and bylaws of the UCSF Medical Center, some Nursing Policies, and Medical Staff Policies, and any unique ambulatory patient services this Nurse Practitioner (NP) position is assigned to, Division of cardiology. This AHP position may perform delegated functions as appropriate to their “scope of practice”. In general, the “scope of practice” includes the management of chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and surgical procedures per approved standardized procedures as identified by the list available on the Medical Staff Office website. The CIDP approved standardized procedures are unique to each person and are unlikely to include ALL SPs on the list. This position may provide patient care in approved age groups and UCSF Health licensed settings. The AHP has responsibility for the quality of standards of care for a specified patient population and evidence of self-direction and accountability in the development of this role within all UCSF medical center locations. UCSF Health requires all Advanced Health Practitioners (AHP) to be credentialed through its Medical Staff Services Office (MSSO) to practice and function in their clinical role. This applies to both adult and pediatric AHPs in the inpatient and outpatient clinical settings at all UCSF Health sites (Parnassus, Mt. Zion, Satellite Clinics, et al). Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 30-60 days and must be completed prior to the first working day.
Eligibility for Sign On Bonus – Candidate cannot be a current UC employee. Candidate cannot have been employed by the University during the 12 months prior to the proposed rehire date. Candidate position classification cannot be Senior Management Group (SMG). Candidate must meet any additional UC location eligibility requirements.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

UCSF Health requires all Advanced Health Practitioners (APP) to be credentialed through OMAG to practice and be privileged through CIDP to function in their clinical role. This applies to both adult and pediatric APPs in the inpatient and outpatient clinical settings at all UCSF Health sites and affiliates. Credentialing, health plan enrollment, and approval of privileges must be completed prior to the first working day. Inability to comply with the requirements of OMAG/CIDP AT ALL TIMES will result in either, a LOA or suspension of privileges designation.
