An opportunity has arisen to join the School of Nursing as a part-time Nurse Educator based at our Preston campus. This post offers the opportunity for a registered Adult Nurse to commence a career within a team of highly committed nurse academics. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic and visionary, keen to shape Nurse education and work with the team to enhance the clinical proficiencies of pre-registration student nurses and trainee nursing associates. Nursing and Nursing Associate programmes are delivered at a number of sites, including Preston, Burnley and Westlakes.

 

Applicants must be registered as an Adult Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and be educated with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing. The successful applicant will have a teaching qualification or a willingness to undertake one upon appointment.

 

Contemporary practice experience is essential, and you’ll have a keen interest in developments in the field. You’ll be committed to the success of your students and be able to show that you can effectively support learning and teaching in the classroom, skills laboratory and in practice areas. Experience in higher education and/or the teaching and assessing of student nurses in practice is essential.  Working patterns are negotiable but an ability to work flexibly to meet the unique requirements of our Westlakes campus would be desirable. There will be an expectation that the successful candidate will teach across a range of courses with specific focus on clinical skills education in the university and clinical placement settings.
