About the role
We are looking for a NTD Programme Manager to implement NTD Programmes in Liberia, and oversee the development, design, budget, and monitoring and evaluation of the programme.
As the NTD Programme Manager you will deliver the NTD Programme targets, programme management guidance, and direct technical support to build the development of integrated NTD programmes and advocacy for the elimination of NTDs in Liberia, as well as being responsible for maintaining an excellent working relationship with our partners, particularly the Ministry of Health.
Further responsibilities include:
- Participate in strategic planning processes to successfully drive the direction and delivery of cost-effective services and ensure objectives are met in line with national policies and Sightsavers’ NTDs elimination goals.
- In collaboration with key stakeholders, lead the development of country level NTD action and implementation plans.
- Provide leadership and guidance in the implementation of NTDs programmes in Liberia to ensure that prevalence trends are effectively tracked and the data collected is used to develop integrated/co-implemented NTD programmes and elimination evidence.
- Provide effective management, coordination, technical advice and resource allocation necessary to support the country programmes to deliver NTD targets through quality service delivery.
- Support the country the team to establish and maintain effective relationships with the Ministry of Health, and other partners in order to advance sustainable national plans and integrate them into the existing public health delivery systems.
- Lead on supporting the country team in rolling out real-time monitoring of MDA coverages and evaluating NTD programme performance.
- Assist in preparing Budgets for projects and monitor expenditure against these, advising the Senior Programme Manager on financial trends etc.
- Develop relationships with other NGOs to support funding and delivery of services.
- Represent Sightsavers at appropriate national/regional/global forums.
- Assist project teams and the Ministry of Health in disseminating information on NTD activities, studies, research and lessons learned at national and international level.
- Ensure integration of safeguarding into NTD programme design implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
Skills and Experience
As the successful candidate you will have extensive experience of strategic programme development within an INGO, possess technical knowledge of Onchocerciasis (Oncho) and Lymphatic Filariasis (LF), and have experience of managing an integrated NTD programme in Africa, ideally in an international context.
Further requirements include:
- Experience developing and managing public health programmes.
- Understanding of the Liberia health system.
- Advocacy experience.
- Experience of donor and partner relations including supervising and monitoring programme partners and activities.
- Knowledge and experience of FCDO.
- Experience of managing project staff
- Able to travel 8-12 weeks a year (nationally and internationally)
