JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Nittany Lions Read/Nittany Lions Count Federal Work-Study Program (NLR/NLC) is seeking applicants to join our program for the 2022/2023 academic year. 

NLR/NLC students seek to enhance the early reading, math, and science skills of children in the surrounding communities. Working directly with community programs, early childhood centers, and elementary schools in the community, NLR/NLC students assist and support the classroom teachers, engage directly with the children, and provide one-on-one and/or small-group instruction. Positions are available in both school day and afterschool programs. Hourly rates for NLR/NLC participants will be $14/hour for the 2022/2023 academic year.

All positions with NLR/NLC require the acquisition of the Three-Public Clearances for Employment.

This job requires a NSOR Verification as well as the following 3 publicly available clearances:

•    PA State Police Criminal Background Check
•    PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form
•    FBI Criminal Background Check.

Students who received a Federal Work Study award have the opportunity to obtain a job and perform related duties either on campus, or remotely, if possible and at the discretion of the employer.  A Federal Work Study award does not guarantee a job position is available.
