Position Summary

We are hiring a Senior Campaign Manager who will set strategy and manage Transform Health’s global campaign portfolio including the national integration, movement building, and global scale up of the MyDataOurHealth campaignDigital Health Week, the roll out of the ‘Roadmap to 2030’ and also co-create and guide future campaigns.  

The Senior Campaign Manager will work closely with the Executive Director, the Strategy and Business Development Lead, Youth Officers and the Communication officer, as well as with colleagues across the Transform Health, to identify strategic opportunities for engagement and to ensure the campaigns initiatives are supporting the coalition’s advocacy and policy objectives and communication and outreach goals. 

The Senior Campaign Manager will also support the monitoring and evaluation of the campaign and organise joint learning and development sessions with implementing partners. The Senior Campaign Manager will ensure strong engagement and enable the leadership of youth, women and marginalised communities in the campaign across all contexts where it is being implemented. The post holder will work with and support youth engagement in the coalition’s campaigning efforts, including working with Transform Health’s Young Experts in Tech for Health (YET4H) initiative to set up and manage the coalition’s youth network and ensure it is fully engaged in the coalition’s campaign initiatives.  

The Senior Campaign Manager will look at integrating new tools and technologies to support partners with their campaigning, leveraging digital tools and technology to support the campaign effectiveness of partners and to increase the coverage and reach of the campaign.

 

CORE FUNCTIONS

National coalition campaign coordination and support – 20%

  • Support national coalitions with their campaign planning and implementation, in particular linking the campaign priorities to advocacy and policy opportunities and ensuring coordinated engagement across NCs and with global partners around global moments set out in the strategy.
  • Oversee and track delivery of the national campaign coordinating partners and the consolidated reporting of the national coalitions (as related to campaigns).
  • Provide ongoing advice and support to national coalitions in relation to the implementation of MyDataOurHealth and in particular oversee the integration and track implementation of the campaign strategy.
  • Provide regular feedback and support to national coalitions to ensure the effective delivery of their campaigns including by developing and circulating a quarterly Campaign Circular that captures the main successes, the learnings, the plans going forward. 
  • Develop and / or share resources with campaign partners to increase collective action, coordination and impact, including visuals, key messages, stories and blogs audio visual material, stunt ideas and concepts. 
  • Facilitate co-creation of new campaigns in coordination with the national coalitions, regional network, coalition partners and campaign coordinating partners. 
  • Support the monitoring and evaluation of the campaigns and organise joint learning and development sessions with implementing partners. 
  • Contribute and ensure partner reporting in internal MEAL frameworks for donor and external reporting.
  • Ensure strong engagement and enable the leadership of youth, women and marginalised communities in the coalition’s campaigns across all contexts where they are being implemented. Support colleagues on the team set up and implement the youth network (youth caucus) across all national coalitions.

Global campaign engagement and growth – 80%  

MyDataOurHealth (25%)

  • In collaboration with coalition partners, oversee the implementation of the MyDataOurHealth campaign, including to identify strategic opportunities for engagement and to ensure the campaign is supporting the coalition’s advocacy and policy objectives. 
  • Engage wider coalition partners in the campaign and build a global network working on the MyDataOurHealth, including by developing and regularly issuing newsletters and other products to partners, in collaboration with the Communications Officer on the campaign.
  • Drive the engagement of civil society organisations and rights groups in the campaign to foster community perspectives and action on health data governance. 
  • Drive up engagement in the Where’sMyData? action by organising Days of Action aimed at building the movement and gathering more data on people’s experience of health data at local level.
  • Set up feedback mechanisms such as targeted newsletter and updates on the campaign and drive the global narrative. 

New Global campaign (20%)

  • In collaboration with the Strategy and Business Development Lead, manage the consultations for the development of the next global campaign, in particular ensuring youth engagement in the process. 
  • Develop the overall campaign strategy and work plan.
  • Foster key partnerships and consult experts and affected groups and key audiences through surveys, key informant interviews etc. to develop Transform Health’s next campaign.  
  • In collaboration with the Communication representatives of coalition partners and internally with the Communication Officer (and others), develop the messaging, public activation mechanisms, branding and operational model for the global campaign.

Roadmap to 2030 (15%)

  • Translate the ‘Roadmap to 2030’ campaign strategy into a tangible campaign plan for 2025 that sets out to evaluate and amplify progress to date and celebrate a coordinated effort on the road to 2030. 
  • Oversee campaign delivery internally, fostering cross-functional collaboration with colleagues in communication, impact & partnerships, policy and advocacy, business development, national programs etc. 
  • Develop a mechanism to ensure all coalition campaign partners submit their plans and report on progress. 
  • Develop an outreach plan that identifies strategic opportunities to engage coalition stakeholders and drive up engagement.
  • Promote the Roadmap to 2030 campaign and deliver campaign toolkits, resources and  social media guidelines to drive up engagement and participation nationally, regionally and globally.
  • In collaboration with the Strategy and Business Development Lead and the Communications Officer, develop a mechanism for capture and display of commitments and impact stories. 

Digital Health Week (20%)

  • Lead the design, implementation and evaluation of Digital Health Week – Transform Health’s annual event.
  • Alongside Transform Health senior staff define the scope and priorities for Digital Health Week 2025, including the overall objective for the week and the format that it should take.
  • Develop and lead a clear project plan that builds and delivers the week in a collaborative manner, assigning relevant tasks to the appropriate staff and stakeholders.
  • Oversee the delivery of the Digital Health Week website, registration forms and creative material – in partnership with Transform Health’s Strategy and Business Development Lead, and Communications Officer.
  • Promote the week through the Transform Health coalition and partners, including the national coalitions, regional networks and external audiences – liaising with organisations that plan to run events or activities in Digital Health Week.
  • Design a promotion strategy that will engage and mobilise a broad and diverse audience to take part in Digital Health Week – including attending events.
  • Working with the Transform Health team, design additional activities to help bring attention to Digital Health Week and raise the profile of the area of work.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree, preferably in a relevant discipline, e.g. social sciences, economics, global health, public policy, political science, communication, public engagement and international development. 
  • At least 10 years’ experience in a campaigning role, including experience of delivering advocacy campaigns and popular mobilisation activities, including strategy development, implementation and partnering with other organisations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience conveying messages effectively to a range of audiences; utilising communication strategies across multiple channels.
  • Highly organised with the ability to plan effectively, balance competing priorities, meet challenging deadlines and be flexible to change.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence colleagues and stakeholders at all levels and across different countries and contexts.
  • Excellent project management skills, managing work plans, timelines, learnings and reporting of sub-grantees and coalition members. 
  • Ability to leverage social media and other digital mediums to promote campaign messaging.
  • Proven track record of building and nurturing relationships and influencing external stakeholder agendas; preferably in a global coalition setting.
  • Excellent resilience and a problem solver, with the ability to remain positive, solutions focused and to learn from setbacks.
  • Experience working in health, digital/data rights or digital health contexts and with a variety of different stakeholders.
  • Proficient in the use of software including Microsoft and Google Suite, online survey tools, virtual workshop tools etc.

 

REPORTING AND ACCOUNTABILITY

This position will report to the Executive Director. The Senior Campaign Manager will work closely under the leadership of the Strategy and Business Development Lead and other members of the enabling function in carrying out his/her role.

 

CONTRACT TERM AND REMUNERATION

Location: Remote
Type: Full-time position

This is a 2 year contract, with a 6 month probation period, renewable based on performance. The salary range for this role is $75-90K per annum depending on experience. The successful candidate will also be entitled to 25 days of annual leave, in addition to Swiss bank holidays.
