Job Overview/Summary:  

The Data Specialist collaborates with various program teams in IRC’s New Jersey office to meet internal and external data needs. Reporting to and in coordination with the Data and Quality Assurance Coordinator, they will be responsible for reviewing data in current web-based systems (primarily Efforts to Outcomes, ETO, and Client Track) and performing regular quality assurance to support timely reporting to funders. The data specialist will help create and implement systems to ensure key data is input and transferred between and across various data systems. The role utilizes Power Platforms (PowerAutomate and Power BI) to automate and visualize data processes. They will lead data clean-up efforts and work with program teams to identify and implement efficient data tracking systems to meet clients, staff, program and funder needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and/or review data sets and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support office leadership and program managers with data quality assurance and analysis.
  • Assist in data entry
  • Assist overseeing data management interns
  • Pull, review and correct data to ensure accurate report submission to funders on a monthly, quarterly and semi-annual basis.
  • Minimize duplication of data entry across programs and identify gaps and process improvements that increase data entry efficiency.
  • Support client counts and other needed metrics by working with deputy director, program managers and coordinators.
  • Serve as a Microsoft Power Platforms administrator for NJ environments, helping maintain and improve PowerAutomate flows and Power BI reports/dashboards
  • Ensure that program staff are aware of Quarterly ETO Release Updates
  • Participate in relevant IRC Community of Practices (CoPs)
  • Actively coordinate with ClientTrack admin (NJOR) and ETO admin (HQ)
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job requirements:

  • University undergraduate degree required, preferably in Social Sciences, Information Systems, or related field (relevant experience may substitute for required degree).
  • Experience with social service case management or program management software, client relationship management, relational databases, or other information systems for client management.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint and other Microsoft 365 products
  • Excellent computer skills are required, especially MS Excel
  • Certification: PL-900 Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals (or willingness to complete certification within 6 months of hire)
  • Certification: MS-900 Microsoft 365 Fundamentals: Describe Microsoft 365 apps and services  (or willingness to complete certification within 6 months of hire)
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions fully and precisely are essential
  • Ability to quickly learn information systems including IRIS, ETO, Integra, SharePoint sites, etc.
  • Solid organizational skills: work productively and accurately while under pressure in a fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Excellent communication skills, including English fluency (written and verbal)
  • Flexible work attitude: ability to work in a team and independently, and meet unexpected demands
  • Experience with ETO system is a plus
  • Experience with Office of Refugee Resettlement funded programs is a plus

Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget.  Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.

US Benefits: The IRC offers a comprehensive and highly competitive set of benefits. All US employees are eligible for sick time, a 403b retirement savings plans: up to 4.5% immediately vested matching contribution, plus an 3-7% additional IRC contribution, and an Employee Assistance Program which is available to our staff and their families to support in times of crisis and mental health struggles.

In addition, full-time employees are eligible for 10 US paid holidays, 20-25 paid time off days, disability & life insurance, medical, dental, and vision insurance (employee contribution starting at $135, $7, and $5 per month respectively) and FSA for healthcare, childcare, and commuter costs. Part-time employees are eligible for a proportionate amount of paid time off. These additional benefits apply to employees who work at least 6 months within a 12 month time period.
