NEW Arabic-speaking Consultants for Social Assistance, Poverty, and Protection Research in Lebanon Consultancy – Consultant – Contractors Agreement MDV – MENA Development Valley Closing in 4 days Beirut
MENA Development Valley (MDV) is currently seeking experienced individual consultants for an upcoming research project focused on social assistance, protection, and poverty programs in Lebanon. We are preparing a proposal and looking to onboard multiple consultants with expertise in these areas. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with a background in humanitarian and development research to contribute to a meaningful project with a focus on Lebanon.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement research methodologies focused on the lived experiences of affected populations in Lebanon, with a preference for participatory research methods such as user journeys, journey mapping, and storytelling.
Lead the design, methodology, data collection, analysis, and reporting of research, assessments, evaluations, and reviews.
Conduct research with extremely vulnerable populations and ensure ethical and inclusive research practices.
Work on social assistance schemes and protection programs, contributing to data-driven insights for improving social safety nets in Lebanon.
Collaborate closely with the research team to ensure robust field and desk-based data collection methods, and oversee field research when necessary.
Contribute to the proposal development process for the research project in Lebanon, bringing expertise in social assistance and protection programming.
Required Qualifications:
Post-graduate degree in a relevant field such as Social Science, Development Studies, International Relations, Economics, or a related discipline.
A minimum of 5 years of experience leading humanitarian or development research, including the development of methodologies, data collection tools, and data analysis.
At least 3 years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing research on social assistance schemes, particularly in the Lebanon or MENA region.
Demonstrated expertise in participatory research methods, with a preference for experience conducting research with vulnerable and marginalized communities.
Prior experience conducting research on social assistance and protection programs in Lebanon is essential.
Fluency in both written and spoken Arabic and English is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous work experience with participatory methods such as user journeys, storytelling, or journey mapping.
Experience designing research methodologies tailored to extremely vulnerable populations in Lebanon.
