Summary
The operations role would include assisting with personnel onboarding, grants submission, equipment ordering, and organization of data collection. The scientists would interact closely with faculty, staff, and trainees in the human neuroscience research arm of the department.
The scientific role involves leading one or more projects extending the lab’s efforts in cognitive neurophysiology and neuropsychiatric neuromodulation. Potential projects include neuroimaging studies with MRI and rsfMRI as well as neurophysiological studies using intracranial neural data obtained either in the epilepsy monitoring unit (EMU) or from bidirectional therapeutic neurostimulation devices
Job Duties:
- Manage lab operations, including personnel onboarding
- Interface with department staff for grant preparation and submission
- Order equipment
- Assist in the training of new lab members on existing analysis platforms in the lab, including RAVE and other Matlab-based platforms.
- Help organize scientific projects across the lab
- Assume primary responsibility for one or more neuroscientific projects involving neuroimaging and/or neurophysiology
- Optimize data collection in the EMU and its analysis pipelines
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Neuroscience or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in a related field
- Prior programming experience in Matlab or Python is mandatory.
- Facile with the manipulation of neuroimaging data and its interpretation, as well as with neurophysiology data and its interpretation in the context of behavioral data.
- Experience with NIH-supported data visualization and sharing platforms such as RAVE or DABI would be highly advantageous.
- Prior experience with human intracranial neurophysiology data, optimization of its acquisition in the EMU, and its analysis is mandatory.
