Summary

The Lloyd laboratory at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking highly motivated and talented Insturctor to work in our Basic Science Research Lab.

Job Duties

  • Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
  • Evaluates and analyzes data.
  • May establish new research protocols and procedures.
  • Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals.
  • May be responsible for laboratory operations.
  • Use Drosophila genetics to investigate mechanisms of motor neuron degeneration.
  • Perform biochemistry and immunofluorescence microscopy to analyze protein expression and localization Perform PCR and qRT-PCR to genotype flies and assess gene expression.
  • Present research in lab meetings and in writing in the form of scientific presentations and abstracts.
  • No required supervisory role, though may help supervise laboratory technicians and students.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Required: Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.

Experience Required: Minimum of 5 years laboratory experience.

Certification/Licenses/Registration: None Required.
