Network Manager (EPSRC Network in Materials for Quantum Technologies)

The University of Manchester is working with Imperial College London on a new EPSRC-funded UK Network in Materials for Quantum Technologies (M4QN). This will initially comprise of eight Material Interest Groups (MIGs) and six Thematic Interest Groups (TIGs) that interact with the National Quantum Technologies Programme (NQTP) and are overseen by a Network Committee, an Executive Committee, and a Strategic Advisory Board. The aim of M4QN is to connect the UK materials community with the NQTP.

The Manager will work with the UoM Lead Investigator, to engage with academics from across the sector and the UK, coordinating and supporting the organisation of strategic meetings, events and other activities that deliver the aims of the Centre and the Network. Management of the Network will be carried out in close partnership with the Network Investigator team and shared with a second Network Manager at Imperial College London. The Manager will also engage proactively with external partners, including companies, and the major investments under the NQTP.

The Manager will be responsible for designated aspects of the day-to-day running of the Network including: communications; visitor liaison and event logistics; Network website and social media management; strategic development; financial forecasting, monitoring and reporting; organisation of public engagement and outreach activities; and preparing periodic activity reports.

The  Manager (a self-starter), will have experience in a higher education (or related) setting of supporting collaborative activities that involve a large team from a diverse range of disciplines and organisations.
