Natural Heritage & Communities Officer

We have an exciting new vacancy to support the delivery of our New Life on the Old West (NLOW)
project. This is a project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund which has recently been
extended to end of September 2025. We are looking to recruit a skilled individual to the
part-time role of Natural Heritage and Communities Officer.

Alongside another colleague in the same role, the Natural Heritage and Communities Officer will
work with partners, communities and landowners to ensure the successful delivery of the NLOW

disseminating information and creating opportunities for local people to learn about and
connect with the diverse Fenland natural landscape.

The successful candidate will have a passion for nature conservation and supporting local
people to be more involved. You will work closely with community groups and volunteers,
enabling them to look after their community green spaces, take part in citizen science and to
undertake ecological monitoring activities.

You will need to be an excellent communicator, both in person and through written means, as
promoting the project and its activities will be a key part of this role. As we enter the last
two years of the project’s delivery, we will be looking to share our learning with a range of
audiences so we leave a lasting legacy.

We are looking for someone who is able to manage their own time and workload and who has
