Job Description

The opportunity

As part of Canada Retirement, the mandate of the National Education Team is to engage plan members in participating in their group retirement programs by partnering with plan sponsors and creating a variety of education and communication materials to prompt members to take action and make decisions. 

Reporting to the Manager, Member Education, the role supports the development and delivery of effective member education programs to engage plan members and grow plan members’ assets in their group retirement plans. 

The role supports Canada Retirement clients that have retirement savings of $10 to $40 million in assets.

Responsibilities:

Relationship management: 

  • Key contact for the field (Account Management and Education Teams), clients and market sources in providing education assessment tools, and education strategies.
  • Provide regular communications and support to the field about education ideas, tools, and templates.
  • Consult and collaborate with multiple internal sales, account management, design and communication resources to create high impact educational offerings for plan members.
  • Support the National Education Consultants on large implementations and initiatives supporting the development and execution of the strategy deliverables. 

Consulting: 

  • Support, participate and provide input into the presale process and assessing the right education solution for clients
  • Support the field in determining which templates and tools will meet the client’s needs, promote the plan’s growth and motivate plan members to actively manage their accounts.
  • Provide recommendations on ways to improve our education strategy based on effectiveness of different strategies and materials. 

Project Management:

  • Negotiate and influence timelines and manage significant number of member education and communication tasks to meets the client’s expectations on scope, time and quality.
  • Develop and maintain well written, clear and accurate content for plan member communication pieces, in a variety of formats, ensuring key messages are incorporated.
  • Create and manage education and communication budgets for all clients in the $10 to $40 million asset range

In this role you will consult and collaborate with multiple internal sales, account management, design and communication resources to create high impact educational offerings for plan members. With a customer service orientation and focus on service excellence, you will support the field, other departments and clients in the presale process, implementation and in the ongoing execution of customized education materials.

What we are looking for

  • University or college education in a related field and/or 3+ years of experience in marketing, communication or the financial services/insurance industry, preferably in the group benefits and/or group retirement areas.
  • Previous project management experience or business experience in pensions an asset.
  • Willingness to obtain RPA designation
  • Desire to learn and develop into a National Education Consultant desirable

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

Waterloo, Ontario

Salary range is expected to be between

$60,000.00 CAD – $100,000.00 CAD
