Our client, a top bank in Canada is looking for a Mutual Fund Administrator.

Job Overview

  • Addressing transfer rejects in real time and determining if valid

  • Clearing and investigating aged issues related to internal mutual fund transfer activity within client accounts including daily tracking and reporting of the status of all areas of these corrections

  • Mid office service team responsible for providing needed investment fund related support.

  • Your understanding of how to prioritize our clients’ requests will enable you to triage and assess time sensitive situations. You will work closely and collaboratively with our internal partners in order to expedite such requests.

  • The successful candidate will be eager to build and expand their experience in mutual fund/investment funds services, looking forward as our team strengthens NBIN’s capabilities and service delivery to our clients.

  • This role requires a solid understanding of investment fund transactional processes, book values, tax implications, as well as time sensitive situations to properly prioritize, investigate and resolve issues with a view to improving identifiable operational gaps and perform root cause analysis.

Main responsibilities:

  • Resolution of aged internal transfer related reconciliation breaks for investment funds held within accounts

  • Assist with all steps related to fund trade corrections as related to breaks and account history, or guidance on special handling to ensure swift resolution

  • Partner with internal operational and other client service teams to drive process efficiency

  • Take ownership of end-to-end resolution of issues and communicate with front office teams directly to resolve

  • Act as part of a team of subject matter experts/point of contact for our clients in the case of complex problems and escalations related to investment funds

  • Be an engaged member of our inclusive and collaborative culture at NBIN

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of investment fund operations, in particular unitholder recordkeeping (providing back-office administration and support to investment fund managers by processing transactions, preparing investor reports, and communicating directly with clients and other financial institutions)

  • Proficiency with Fundserv and familiarity with information flow between fund companies and dealer

  • Min 2 years related industry experience in mutual funds

  • Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve issues and disciplined approach to investigating root causes

  • Experience with registered plan accounts

  • Ability to prioritize workflow

  • Strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills. Ability to relay messages in a simple, concise, and effective manner

  • Highly proficient in Excel (advanced excel preferred)

  • Prior experience in IBM (Kindryl), PrimeOE, AS400 will be considered a strong asset

  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
