Monash Residential Services (MRS) coordinates all aspects of student accommodation at Monash University. They provide the best care, support and enrichment to students and residents to enable a fulfilling University life.
The Opportunity
MRS are currently seeking to fill the following positions for our campuses for 2023:
- HEW 07 – College Head – Pro-rata of $93,515 – $102,568 pa HEW Level 07 (plus 17% employer superannuation)
- HEW 05 – Deputy College Head – Pro-rata of $73,053 – $83,914 pa HEW Level 05 (plus 17% employer superannuation)
- HEW 04 – Residential Support Assistant – Pro-rata of $67,204 – $71,885 pa HEW Level 04 (plus 17% employer superannuation)

These roles are important conduits between the University and the students residing in the residential halls, supporting and collaborating to deliver a positive, engaging experience.

As the College Head you will take leadership responsibility for the residences on campus; ensuring a safe, engaging and supportive environment is provided for residents.
The College Head demonstrates experience and ability to act and make sound judgements in times of crisis. The role is expected to have strong people skills that allow the management of interpersonal relationships with sensitivity and flexibility, encouraging cooperation and responsibility amongst residents of all ages. The right person will have a passion for developing a positive environment for residents for the individual as well as group needs, taking into consideration the multi-cultural and regional backgrounds of the residential cohort.

As a Deputy College Head is the second in command to the College Head and assumes the important responsibility of providing residential support, engagement and development activities within a residential community.
A Deputy College Head demonstrates a caring nature and interpersonal skills that will allow the formation of strong professional collaborations with colleagues and students, to provide an excellent residential experience. The role encourages cooperation and responsibility amongst residents of different ages and ethnicity to create a sensitive, flexible and welcoming community.

The Resident Support Assistant (RSA) is the first point of contact for residents and will be working under the guidance of the College Head and Deputy College Head, to build a community among the residents.
The RSA demonstrates the ability to make sound judgements in times of crisis, manages interpersonal relationships with sensitivity and flexibility, and encourages cooperation amongst residents. The RSA sets an example to other residents and collaborates with them in building a wholesome community.
These positions require the successful candidate to live on site, being available for 48 weeks of the year. The positions receive a rental allowance along with the salary (pro-rata) as support. These roles are part-time positions but require significant availability.
These roles need significant availability on weekends and outside normal business hours and leave will need to be planned according to team availability.
