Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Demonstrated ability to work in a construction environment, proficient in using a range of hand and power tools, physically dexterous to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects, proven ability to understand and execute written instructions, competent at performing preventative maintenance on equipment and power tools, excellent attention to detail, able to work efficiently with and without supervision, well versed in maintenance, cleaning and debris removal tasks, demonstrated ability to work in extreme weather conditions, experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks, knowledge of handling hazardous materials and industrial waste, self-motivated problem solver who works collaboratively with all levels of employees.

Typical Experience:
2+ years’ construction or moving industry experience preferred, documented employment in such fields or 2 years experience in another general labor position or positions.
Required Education or Training:

High school diploma/GED preferred. Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures. Valid driver’s license.

Salary Information:

Salary Information: MSW4/Step 1 $20.86/hr plus 12% shift pay for all hours.  (See Article 9.2 in the L6070 Collective Bargaining Agreement, Wage Grade Schedule – http://www.alaska.edu/labor/local-6070/  .  This is a full-time, benefited position with a UA employee benefits package . Union represented.
