The specifics of the hybrid schedule, including the exact number of days required in the office and virtual work options may vary based on the needs of the team and the organization.You will

  • Design algorithms for efficient parallel solution of PDEs under constraints.
  • Develop code in C++ for an existing parallel application.
  • Analyze code performance and establish benchmarks/validation.
  • Write high-quality software with adherence to professional best practices including using Git, unit testing, and writing documentation.
  • Maintain an awareness of technical literature in relevant areas, publish research results in peer-reviewed scientific or technical journals, and present results at internal progress meetings, external conferences, seminars, and/or technical meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • PhD in computational physics, computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with the development of parallel codes, including MPI, C++, and Git.
  • Experience with running parallel codes on high-performance computing infrastructure.
  • Ability to find innovative solutions to complex scientific and technical problems.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to interact with a diverse set of scientists, engineers and other technical and administrative staff.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills necessary to work in a multidisciplinary team environment, author technical and scientific reports and publications and deliver scientific presentations.

Qualifications We Desire

  • Experience with GPU accelerated codes.
  • Experience with molecular dynamics simulation, computational fluid dynamics, or optimization methods.
